Samantha Parish, Author
My name is Samantha Parish and I’m a debut author. I like to think I’ve been an author my entire life, but it wasn’t until my late twenties I took the initiative to get proper training.
I remember in fifth grade I spent my free time creating “novels” for fun. Each one had a perfectly drawn and colored cover, pasted to a piece of colored construction paper that held written pages of some sort of Goosebumps-like plot in between another piece of construction paper.
By the time I was in my twenties I had started submitting to publications and I was able to write for online outlets as well as some print.
It was in 2018 when I used CreateSpace, which would later become KDP, when I published my first book, which is no longer in print. It’s called Beautiful Burning Bitch, and is a collection of poetry I wrote when I first got sober. Part of my choosing to take it out of print was because I did not remain sober after that publication, but when trying again I was able to.
In 2019 I returned to college and earned my associate’s degree in creative writing and my bachelor’s degree in writing and rhetoric. I graduated with honors by writing a 106 page thesis.
In 2023, just a couple of months ago, I published my debut psychological thriller/women’s upmarket novel 12,775 Days.
Since then I have been working on my second novel and plan to do as much as I can regarding my writing. I want to share everything I know with other authors who have the same dreams as I do.
