I changed the cover design of my book and am currently awaiting my proof copies
And I started another book because I'm literally crazy and can't stop going and going and going and goingggg
Welcome to this twoferone session where I excitedly talk about my book that I’m desperately trying to perfect as well as my other book that I’m already starting before I even finish publishing this one.
FIRST: 12,775 Days
This was my original cover but once I got it and was able to hold it in my hands there were just a few things I didn’t like about it.
This is my updated cover that I’ll hopefully be getting by the end of the week (and I ordered it in hardcover too!! Still undecided on whether or not I want to sell that one and I’m trying to focus on getting the Kindle version formatted this weekend because I HATE formatting)
What’s super weird about this is I put it to a vote on my personal Facebook page and almost every single person over the age of 40 liked the black one and everyone under the age of 40 liked the green one.
At the end of the day I decided I was going to go with the green one because if I were to see it on a shelf, I would look at it before I looked at the black one since the black one looks like all the other books I see. The coffee ring on the back was unidentifiable so I opted for coffee beans, and the words on the back on the black book made it look like a 6th grade powerpoint presentation (basically it looks like shit). I also liked the white speckles in theory but in front of my face- ew.
So, anyone who buys this book, it’s going to be green, sorry!
I’m absolutely in love with how the inside turned out and wasn’t totally sure because of the font style and size I chose, so I was worried, but it came out so perfect! This has been my silver lining as of late.
I ALSO CAME UP WITH MY SECOND BOOK PLOT IDEA
Side note regarding the giant header above: I am still actively perfecting everything with 12,775 Days on the formatting, cover, etc. front, so why would I already dive into a second novel?
That’s a great question, and here are my tangent answers:
I have A LOT going on right now mentally, to the point that I need to cling to one healthy thing to focus on for the time being, and after a long discussion with my boyfriend last night, that one thing is going to be writing. If I’m always writing then I’m not thinking about drinking, unhealthy coping skills, or any other sort of major thing that may derail me.
I like it. The part of creativity is done with 12,775 Days for the most part and I need to keep that flowing or I get stir crazy. I have honestly never experienced writer’s block because my mind is crazy and constantly on overdrive. I easily have a notebook full of 10+ solid plotlines I want to write out, but alas I can only focus on one at a time.
I have an emotional attachment to these characters and while I create them I need to give them their voice.
Let’s summarize this next one up as a hostage situation in a restaurant with a lot of killing and traumatic bullshit.
I will leave you with this:
