Book Review for Hometown Revenge: A Cruel Reckoning

Beverly Simmons, a haunted and tormented soul, returns to her hometown of Green Hills with a dark purpose in mind: to enact revenge on her unsuspecting classmates who had once subjected her to relentless bullying and committed an unspeakable crime that scarred her for life.
As fate would have it, her path collides with her former tormentors at a local restaurant. Despite the passage of time, the wounds inflicted by her bullies, Sara Lewis and Harrison Beck, remain fresh in Beverly's mind, fueling her thirst for justice.
Within the confines of the restaurant, tensions rise as Beverly's presence triggers a series of unsettling events. The patrons of the establishment find themselves unwitting witnesses to a harrowing confrontation that exposes long-buried secrets and forces everyone to confront their past actions.
Characters
Beverly Simmons: Our main character, who has driven from Kissimmee, Florida, where she escaped to after years of torment in Green Hills, New York, to seek out the classmates from her past to get revenge.
Sara Lewis: Beverly’s biggest bully and the Queen Bee of Green Hills High school back in 2005. Now a divorced, single mom, Sara is doing all she can to keep up her public image. She’s also a delusional idiot.
Harrison Beck: Sara’s righthand man back in 2005, and a lonely drunk loser with a DWI and looming prison sentence in his near future.
Cassie Connor: Sara’s teenage daughter who refuses to listen to anything her mother has to say. She is quite the opposite of “Queen Bee” status at Green Hills High, and did not follow in those footsteps.
Tracey Singleton: The invisible third wheel of the Queen Bee clique back in 2005, and Sara’s doormat.

This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. It explores the really dark corners of a person’s mind, and why they choose to do horrible, wrong things. Whether they find it justifiable for feel forced, Hometown Revenge: A Cruel Reckoning explores these reasons. Will you feel sympathy for the bad person, or will you feel that karma should do its job? How would you feel if it didn’t go the way you think it should?
Those who like exploring that type of darkness would really enjoy this novel. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s absolutely for someone.
